A Certificate III Electrician program introduces students to many of the skills used in the electrical industry. Rather than focusing on one particular type of electrical work, the training covers circuits, wiring, electrical equipment, drawings, testing and troubleshooting. Students also learn about workplace safety and electrical risk controls. This broad approach can be useful because electricians may encounter different systems and situations throughout their working lives. AITE’s UEE30820 qualification contains 29 units, covering areas ranging from electrical safety and cable termination to lighting, control circuits, transformers and general electrical installations.
